Another card in a box

I work as a caretaker for people that are partially unable to clean their house. Mostly because people get older and they may need some assistance. I always make Christmas cards, a Christmas present and a birthday card for each of my clients and their spouse if they have a partner.

This Sunday one of them is turning the age of 90. What an age. I made a card in a box. I don't know any of the brands of the dies I used except for the text die with the shadow that is from Marianne Design. I used vellem for the shadow and silver metallic cardstock for the sentiment die.

I tried something new to me. I used some double side tape with a width of about 1/2 inch and stuck 4 pieces onto 1 of the balloons and tried to see if you could use 2 different colors of glitter. And yes it work like a charm. I will try this more. I loved it. The glitter really sticks to the double side tape and doesn't shed at all.

So I gave the card today already because I won't see him before his actual birthday and he really really like it. So happy when it is appreciated.

Card for my sister in law

I made this card for my sister in law. I have seen several cards like this on Pinterest and I wanted to make one myself. I am happy how it turned out.

The papers are from the collection Besotted of Nitwit Collection. I printed it out twice and cut out the top layer somewhat smaller then the panel under that. I added some embossed lines. I wrapped a piece of vellum around the top layer and added some white jute rope to it. I used 2 different swirl dies of which I don't know the brand. The number dies are from Spellbinders Pooh's Alphabet, Numbers and More. And for the finishing touch I added some white pearls here and there in different sizes.

The recipient loved the card so it was much appreciated by her.

Cut It Up #322

This is my entry for the Cut It Up challenge #322. The theme is to use a heart on your card so I took this large heart.

I don't know any company brand names of what I used on this card. The sentiment I made myself otherwise I would have mentioned them ofcourse.

I like that it almost looks like a CAS style card although it is not because of the full embossed background. I still love the simplicity of the design.

The sentiment is made by me and it says Many Thanks if you were to translate this.

Cas On Friday #301

I like the CAS style a lot so I decided to join the challenge over at CAS on Friday #301. Not sure if the layered flower it too much for a CAS card.

I used the Papertrey Into The Blooms Rose Die to make that lovely rose. I inked up the white cardstok with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet. I added some foam tape between each layer so it has a lot of depth. I splattered some rosered paint onto the white cardstock and finished the card with a small sentiment.

Finally the sun is out and about over here so this is better to make nicer looking photos.

A Rocker Card

This is a rocker card. I saw it and had to make it myself. The snowman die is from Marianne Design. I made the sentiment myself and used Nellie Snellen label dies to cut it out. I don remember the name of the company of the embossing folder and the circles I used. The background paper is from a Nitwit Collection but don't remember which one exactly.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #94

I do like playing along with challenges. The downside is that the weather often is very gloomy here and it is very hard to make nice looking photos. And since challenges end at certain dates unfortunately we have to do with the light we get from outside. So this card looks so much nicer in real then on these photos.

I made this one for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge #94 which has a baubles theme. I used the panel from the Spellbinders Stitched Ladybug die and I stitched that with gold metallic yarn and the baubles are from Spellbinders Festive Ornaments. The string are from a die of Poppy Stamps. The sentiment is created and printed by myself.

Playing along with challenges can is a great way to build up a stash for upcoming Christmas. I know I will be ready for that at the end of the year.

A card for the Make My Monday Challenge

I made this card for the Make My Monday #243 challenge. Your card has to feature snowflakes.

I used a background paper from the local dollar store which is called Action in my country. I inked some brown dots on it using a stencil and also inked the edges after I distressed them with the Tim Holtz distress tool. I splattered some white paint on the background like it was small falling snowflakes.

I die cut each snowflake 3 times to give them some dimensions. Sorry don't know the brands for these. And to finish the card I added a printed sentiment which says "Warm Cozy Christmas Days". For those who don't know this in my country we celebrate 2 days of Christmas. That is double the fun.

Card for a friend

I made this card for a friend who is having his birthday on the 24th. Unfortunately it's always a big guess if the card arrives on time and he got it a day early. Better then too late I guess. I wish him all the best and hopes he has a wonderful day.

I used background papers for the Sunflower Cottage collection of Nitwit Collections. As far as I know the gnome is unbranded. I have so many of these gnomes that I really want to start using them. This is from an October Fest set. I love gnomes. I think they are adorable.

A birthday card for my son

This Wednesday it's my sons 33rd birthday but we celebrated this yesterday and went hyperbowling. Never tried that before but it was fun.

I made a mostly white card with party balloons. The sentiment was printed on the cardstock. The party balloons are of Pretty Pink Posh. I don't remember the company of the alphabet die letters. I used some metallic silver thread that I tied together and covered up with a little bow.

I will be adding this card to the A Place To Start challenge

The color combinations is in grey, aqua and white.

Christmas cards in a box

So in my travels on the internet I came across cards like this. I actually first found them on the blog called Made by Alina. I really like her style of cards. Unfortunately she hasn't updated her blog for quite a while so I don't know if she still makes cards.

These are cards in a box. I really really like these kind of cards and have made several of them already. They fold flat so you can send these in an envelop to that someone special. I have also recently made one for one of my clients who is turning 90 years old soon. What an age. I will post this as soon as I have given it to him.

So the idea is by Alina, the dies are by Marianne Design, I don't know the brand of the embossing folders and the background papers are from NItwit Collections.

An AI image inspired Christmas Card

I have lots of AI graphics as I am a member of Creative Fabrica. I use them sometimes to get inspiration. I see an image and try to make a card that looks like it but all made with dies. So I only use it for inspiration and not the actual graphic. I used to like AI but I think it is going a bit too far now because I don't know what is real and what is fake because of AI.

Anyways I the lamp die is from Anne Marie Designs and the candle inside is a die from Marianne Designs. I added some acetate so it seems like real glass. The poinsettia dies are I believe of Lady E. The backgroud is embossed with a snowflake embossing folder.

I will be adding this to the Crafty Calender Challenge, The challenge is to use a die cut. Guess this one does definately qualify for that.

A challenge card for CAS on Sunday

I have made this card for the challenge over at CAS On Friday challenge 300.

It has to be a winter theme. I choose to keep the main card white and added some blue snowflakes. I printed the sentiment and then used a lable die of Nellie Snellen to cut it out. I don't know the brand of the snowflakes anymore but I die cut each snowflake about 3 times and glued them together to give them some dimension so they stand out a bit more. And ofcourse had to add a few pearls here and there.

I think it's a very much a clean and simple card but still has elegance.

A Heart Shaped Card

I love making these card that have such pretty papers. I wanted to make a heart shaped one this time. No particular reason in mind just gave it a try and this is the end result.

The papers are from Lemoncraft. The grid die is from AlieExpress so brandless and the heart shape is also a die but I don't remember the company for that one

I didn't put a sentiment on it so I can use it later for any occassion that will suit a card like this

Two Nitwit Birthday cards

Here are 2 cards made with the digital collection Bluebell Cottage.

Initially I made one of the cards for my sister in law till I learned that she is turning 65 this year so I wanted to make something different for that. I am now using them in my stash box for the moment.

I have used all dies on both cards that makes fun folds so much easier and the first one I don't remember which company this is from but the second one is a die from Crealies called On The Move 21.

They are so cheerful and I am sure they will brighten up someone's day

A card for the Addicted to CAS challenge

So this is the first try at a challenge over at the Addicted to CAS challenge blog. I am entering this in their current challenge #274. I hope it's good enough to participate.

The challenge is to use blue in your project so I added some blue ink to the background. I die cut the tree 3x and glued them together to give the tree some dimension. I choose to put a blue star on top of the tree. And stamped a sentiment below the tree.

I don't know if I have a favorite type of technique or card style but I often use pearls in my cards for that finishing touch.

So this is my version of a CAS card with some blue on it

First Christmas Cards for this year

So these are the first Christmas cards for the new year. They are not hard too make at all and look stunning I think. The dies are from Kristina Werner of Concord&9th. They have been released in September 2024 I believe but I could be off by a month or so.
The background paper are digital images by Nitwit collection. I don't remember the specific collection but is one of the Christmas themed kits.

They are a bit similar to one another but all have something different. I haven't made any duplicated card yet as I really like them to be a one of a kind.

Happy crafting
