Forever Friends Cross Stitch Card

Today I am showing my finished cross stitch card of a cute Forever Friends bear.

I stitched it on white Aida using DMC thread. I converted the color list from Anchor to DMC colors. I will be sending this to someone for Christmas. After I completed the piece I mounted it on some thick white cardstock. I then made the passe partout for the frame. I put acetate on top and then the frame. I added the whole piece onto a kraft card base. I like how the whole thing look like a little framed painting but it is still a card.

I will definately be making more cross stitch cards.

Photo Inspiration Card

This is a card I created after I have seen a beautiful photo of a christmas cake on Pinterest. I don't know if the photo is AI or real. I am trying to embrace AI for good reasons and it does give me inspiration for making cards. So when I see an image I try to make it into a card using my supplies I have.

Below you will find the photo that gave me the inspiration and I think it turned out pretty good. I used the Spellbinders Ganache Gateau die set for the Christmas Cake. The snowflakes are just from various dies set. I don't know the brand for the snowflake embossing folder I used. I like but the cardstock kept cracking even after spritzing it with a bit of water. Luckely you can really see it on the card. The card is a somewhat bigger then a regular card I make because of the large die set of Spellbinders. The sentiment is made by myself and foiled with gold foil. I also added a few gold and white peals on top of the cake for the finishing touch.

Here is the inspirational photo I used

I will be entering this into the following challenge:

Hanukkah Gnome Card

Today I am showing you another gnome card. I have so many so still able to make lots of different ones. I am a gnome addict yes.

I wasn't able to find any suitable background paper that I like so I made the one with the dreidel and the yellow little star myself using some graphics from Creative Fabrica. The blue star paper was a digital download also from Creative Fabrica so I didn't make that one. The Hanukkah gnome is from Globeland. I don't really celebrate that Holiday but I really found the gnome so adorable that I had to get it. Maybe I will know someone some day to give this too. The sentiment was homemade and printed.

A Floral Card

Today I am showing you a floral card I made.

I inked the panel underneath the flowers with pink and aqua ink and blended them together although you can't really see that anymore since the flowers are on top of it. I used Distress Oxide Scattered Straw and Speckled Egg for that. I then die cut a bunch of flowers out of yellow and aqua cardstock and added a bit of ink in the middle of the flowers. The flower centers are in pale grey. I used sets Papertrey Ink Into The Blooms but I forgot which sets exactly. The sentiment is homemade and printed and I used a label die to cut that out. I inked the edges of the sentiment with black to make sure you would not see any white cardstock anymore.

I will be adding this to the following challenge:

Guest Designer Card

This is the card I made being a guest designer at Kaartje Inspiratie Challenge.
The challenge is to use red, white, blue and some orange. This year we are celebrating 80 years of freedom since the 2nd World War and these colors are our national colors. The red, white and blue are in our flag and orange is for the House of Orange. I did put 80 in the middle as I have a lot of elderly clients and I can always give this as a birthday card to one that will turn 80 right.

So I used a light orange panel and put a flower circle on it in the colors red, white and blue. I added some orange beads for the centers. The flowers are from Poppy Stamps. The large numbers are from The Greetery and I cut them out of gold metallic cardstock. I added some gold pearls in the corners for the finishing touch.

It was a joy to be a guest designer and feel free to join in on the current challenge.

Lilac & Aqua Card

Today I am showing you a card that I made with lilac and aqua colors

I printed the background that I made in Paint Shop Pro with the colors blue and aqua. I also printed the colors onto an another sheet of paper and I die cut the flowers out of that. The flowers are from Papertrey Ink Into The Blooms Gerbera Daisies. The centers of the flowers are white. I added them onto a circle that I cut out using some circle nestabilies and I added some vellum behind it so you could still see those lovely background colors. The sentiment is from Carlijn Design and I cut that out 3 times to give it more dimension. I added 2 layers of the sentiment behind the vellum so it would give more support to the vellum in the middle. I added a few sequins in matching colors to finish the card.

I will be entering this card in the following challenge:

A Cross Stitch Painting Card

I got this idea into my head to see if it was possible to make a card with counted cross stitch look like framed art that you could hang onto your wall. So this is my first try at it.

I first stitched the design using Aida cloth and DMC thread. The pattern is from the magazing Cross Stitch Favourites Christmas 2023. When it was done I ironed the piece nice and flat. I added some white cardstock behind it and then taped the outer edge onto the back panel to make it nice and sturdy. I then added the 3 white cardstock panels on top of the stitch pieces and made a frame using some dies that allow you to make different sizes of frames. I added a piece of acetate behind the frame so that it give the illusion of a framed painting and I think it worked great. I then added the whole frame piece onto a square double card base. I will be doing more of these and going to experiment with colors and patterns for the frame. It took me a whole day to complete this one but I love how it turned out. This will be one for my stash of Christmas cards for this year.

I added an Anne Marie Designs star on the spotted circle that I die cut out of silver metallic cardstock. I added 2 more layers underneat the star to give it dimensions. I also die cut 3 layers for the sentiment.

Floral Birthday Card

I spend a lot of time on Pinterest looking for inspiration and I saw several floral cards with colored flowers on black cardstock. I really like the contrast it gives and ofcourse had to give it a try myself.

I embossed the black panel. On top of that I added 3 flowers and some leaves. The flower set is from Papertrey Ink Into The Blooms Dahlia. I choose pink and yellow. I inked up the middle of the flowers to give it a more realisitic look. I also added a bit of ink on the flowers. I added a sentiment from Marianne Design LR0750 Van Harte in gold metallic cardstock.

So an unusual color combination but very beautiful I think.

I used Honey Bee Stamps Christmas Market Add On for the wreath and the sign on the side of the shop. I added an embossed wall panel behind the shop front. I added some acetate for the windows and the front door. The gnome just bought a present from the store. The red background paper is from the Nutcracker collection of Nitwit Collections. The sentiment is homemade and printed by me.

Simple Elegant Christmas Card

Today I am showing you a card in just white and kraft that I made for my Christmas stash later this year. I already have quite a few and so I will not be needing to hurry up at the last minute. I love making Christmas cards all year long.

For this card I used white as a base card. I added these snowflakes stitched squares popped up on some foam on top. I took a square stitched nesting die set. I added a small snowflake die in the middle and secured it with low tack tape. I then ran it through my die cut machine until I had 12 little squares. I left some space between the 3rd and 4th row to be able to add the homemade sentiment to. I used a label die to cut that out. This is nice card not very hard to make.

An Encouragement Card

Today I am showing you a card that I saw from a lady called Stercreaties. She makes the most beautiful cards and I love her style. I needed another card for encouragement and I made this in her style. I had a few different things but that's ok. It's not meant to be an exact copy ofcourse

I don't know any of the brands of the items I used. I buy a lot second hand and I don't always know what the designer is because of that. I printed the blue panel as I didn't have that color blue in any cardstock. I added a layer of clouds that I made using a cloud border die. I cut some stars and clouds from various sets of dies. I popped the triangle parts of the kite onto some foam squares to give it some more dimension. The sentiment is home made and printed myself

An X MAS Card

Today I am showing you this card made by attaching the letters together and it spells XMAS.

I got the idea when I saw a baby card. The letters are from a stencil of Dutch Dobadoo and I don't have them. You trace the letters and then cut them out. Unfortunately my eyesight is bad so it is hard for me to properly cut out things so I try to avoid that. Then I remember I got really big letter and number dies from my husband as a Christmas present and I cut out the four letters and shadows using the die cut machine. I then attached a paper strip on top of the letters and below on the letters and scored lines in between the letters to fold them in a zigzag so you can fold them to fit into an envelop.

I used some digital papers from Nitwit Collections for the letters. The mice, the clothes and the christmas decorations are all from Marianne Design. I don't know the brand for the number banners I used

Today I am showing you a card that I saw on the Papertrey Ink blog. So this is not my idea but I like it a lot.

The flower dies set is from Papertrey Ink Into The Blooms: Cute As A Button. It is a nice set that can be used in many different ways. I don't remember who the designer is of the background panel. The sentiment I made myself and it says For A Speedy Recovery so I made it into a get well card

An Encouragement Tag

Today I am showing you a tag instead of a card. A dear friend recently got some really bad news about her health so I bought flowers and made this tag to go along with it.

The pattern paper is from Nitwit Collection. The tulips are from Lawn Fawn Terrific Tulips. I added some ink in darker colors then the colors of the cardstock so it looks like it has a bit of shade. I also drew some lines with a white gelpen. I tied the bouquet together with some white lace crochet yarn. The sentiment is made by myself.

Stair Step Retirement Card

Today I am showing you a card made on request for a friend. Her husband is finally retiring from his job and they love to spend time on the camping so I made this stair step card with the caravan for her.

It has been a while since I made this so whatever I can remember using I will note right here. The caravan die is from Marianne Design COL1531 Caravan by Marleen. The patterned papers for the curtains of the caravan are from Nitwit Collection. The large trees are My Favorite Things Two Trees Dienamics. The little flowers are also from Marianne Design but I don't remember the item number.
The bottom sentiment is made from Marianne Design CR1594 Punch Die Alphabet. The upper sentiment is homemade. A nice spring themed retirement card. I am sure she has given it to him by now so now I can show everyone else.

Two Slimline Baby Cards

Today I am showing you 2 slimline baby cards. I saw an inspirational photo of a cover for a photo-album that had a bear on a cloud and it gave me the inspiration for these baby cards. Ofcourse a boy and a girl version as I can't help making one of each.

I used digital printed papers of Nitwit Collections of the the Beautiful Baby Boy and the Beautiful Baby Girl collections. I added some tiny clouds popped up onto some foam tape to get the dimension. The largest clouds is from Spellbinders Summer Vacay die set. I just made the width a bit smaller so it wouldn't fit onto the card better. The baby is from Marianne Design COL1479 Eline's Babies. The ribbon die is second hand so I don't know the brand for it.
On the boy version I added a few little stars and on the girl version I added a few hearts. The sentiments are homemade and printed. I then die cut them out with a label die.

Feathers Birthday Card

Today I am showing you a birthday card with feathers.

I used white cardstock. I printed the sentiment with my laser printer. I then took a panel die of Pink Fresh Studio. I got a die that cuts out these line to tuck the feathers into. I then masked off the part where the sentiment was and inked the panel with Distress Oxide Ink Worn Lipstick. I then splatted some gold metallic paint onto the panel. I then added the gold foil onto the sentiment. I was a bit nervous what the heat would do to the rest of the panel but it was all ok. I then die cut the feathers and added some gold glitter to the center of the feathers. Especially at night the card looks so shiny because of that. For the finishing touch I added a few gold pearls.

I die cut a blue panel out of the Border Bling Lattice die from Papertrey Ink. The border frame is from Pink Fresh Studio. The geranium flowers are from the Into The Blooms Geraniums die of Papertrey Ink. I inked the petals with blue ink and the leaves I cut out of green cardstock that I inked with darker green on the edges. The scalloped oval panel is also from Papertrey Ink. Color Hues Guest Designer Card

I created this card as a guest designer for the Color Hues challenge. As you can see I am a card maker and definately not a good photographer as the color seems like blue on the photo but it is actually teal if you see the card for real.

I took a background image from the internet and cut that with the Simply Diamonds Die from Pink Fresh Studio to get those neat squares. I layered the pieces on a piece of foam tape to give them that dimension on a panel that I embossed with a rose pattern. I don't know the designer for that embossing folder. I die cut the tiny flowers from a die of Marianne Design. And I homemade a sentiment that says Get Well Soon if you translate it to English.

Hope you all play along with the challenge.
