Another Christmas Cross Stitch Card

Today I am showing you another finished cross stitch card.

I made it look like a framed painting again but it is actually a card. The pattern is stitched onto 14count white Aida cloth. It is rather large still a little under 8 inch so I bought some 18count cloth so the designs won't be as large. I still need to make one to see the actual difference in size. I love gnomes so much and I have a whole range of patterns like this. I think I will keep this myself to display around christmas.

Christmas Cas Cards

Today I am showing 2 two christmas cards I made.

I added a white panel onto a white base card. I distressed the edges of the panel using the Tim Holtz distress tool. I splashed some paint across the panels. On one I used gold metallic paint and silver metallic paint on the other. I then die cut a large and a small bauble from a nesting die set that I bought at the dollar store. I embossed the baubles with various embossing folders. I did use different hangers from various die set that I die cut out of gold and silver metallic. I also added a circle underneath the embossed baubles to give it a bit more dimension. I added a little bow on the hangers of the largest baubles. I then printed the sentiments and cut them out. Nice quick clean and elegant christmas cards for my stash.

I will be adding the to the following challenge:

I splattered some paint on the panel before I added the flowers and leaves on it. The flowers are from Spellbinders Gorgeous You collection. I added some ink to the middle and edges of the petals to give it a bit of shading. The sentiment is homemade and printed. I used a little banner die to cut the sentiment out.

Today I am posting a card I made for my husbands grandson who is turning 12 today.

He loves playing computer games so I made a card with a gaming theme. I really like the papers from Echo Park but these are not available so I added one of the papers into Word and just printed it out and it also looked great. I added a game console die cut to the center of the card. I used a Happy Birthday banner die for the sentiment, I also die cut a nesting star die and added the numbers to the star The color theme is yellow, blue and black. I hope he liked the card.

A Cas Sentiment Card

Today I am showing a clean and simple card with a large sentiment.

My base card is white. I printed the BIRTHDAY TO YOU onto some white cardstock and added a Folk Edge Rectangle panel die by Pink Fresh Studio on top of that. I used the largest one in the set. Then I cut out all of the letters from the Concord & 9th Skinny Alphabet in green, blue and purple tones. I die cut all the letters twice and glued them together to get a bit of dimension. I then added them above the printed sentiment. I actually made a ruined the first try be spilling glue on the card and I could not get it away. The second time it went ok. Crafting is fun but sometimes annoying because of these mistakes.

I love the overall look of this CAS card.

I will be adding this to the following challenge:

An Anemone Birthday Card

Today I am showing you a floral birthday card. I will keep this for my stash of cards for now.

I printed a digital background paper from the Sweet Pea Lavender collection of Nitwit Collection. I used the newly released Into The Blooms Anemone dies of Papertry Ink. I added Distress Oxide Inks Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber to the petals. The centers are die cut out of gold metallic cardstock. I die cut the leaves out of a pieces of designer papers of Marianne Design. On the back they have solid colors and the green color was perfect. The other leaves are from white cardstock that I inked up with Distress Oxide Bundled Sage ink. I added the flowers onto two panels from Spellbinders Essential Floral Reflections. I die cut the largest panel from vellum. I then added the sentiment onto a strip of vellum. I added an adhesive sheet before I cut the sentiment and that is why I could added it smoothly to the vellum. I added a few white pearls for the finishing touch. For my base card I used white.

Musical Birthday Card

Today I am showing a birthday card in a music theme. I always like the kind of polish style of cards. I am not that good at making them but this is what I came up with.

I used musical designer papers from Lemoncraft. I used the distress tool of Tim Holtz to make the edges. After that I inked up the edges of the card with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. I then pierced the holes all across the borders and stitched them using ecru crochet yarn by hand. I added a white die cut doily to the middle and placed the guitar on that. I die cut some white and brown leaves and branches and inked those as well. For the flowers I dipped into my stash to find the matching colors for this card. Sometimes if I am out of inspiration I make a whole bunch of flowers to have on hand when needed. So all the flowers are made by myself. I also added a few small butterflies of Spellbinders die cuts. The letters are from a Concord & 9th alphabet set.

I will be adding this to the following challenge:
Hobbyvision #148 - Music
TGIF #525 - Paper Flowers

The pattern is stitched on 14 count Aida white embroidery fabric. The floss I used is from DMC. The pattern is relatively easy to make. I saw this dinosaur gnome set and just had to buy it. I think it is so adorable. I decided to make this for a younger child's birthday. I used digital papers from Nitwit Collection Geranium and Fabusaurus. The gnome is dressed up as a dinosaur holding an egg. The gnome is from Globeland. Christmas Cross Stitch Card

Today I am showing you another cross stitch card I made. I am currently really addicted to them but I really wanna make some other cards so I am working on that as well

This is a pattern from Dimensions. Unfortunately I forgot the design number but I will add it as soon as I can find it again. I stitched the pattern onto Aida 14count using DMC thread. I used a conversion list for Dimensions to DMC. Instead of the French knots I added pearls for the eyes and the mouth. I added a frame around the stitch pieces and added that to a kraft base card. The sentiment is home made and printed.

I will be adding this to the following challenge:

A Photo Card With Lights

Today I am showing you a card I made for the grandson of my husband.

This handsome guy is now 14 years old. He really likes lights and his bedroom is decorated full of light strings so I made him this photo card and it lights up using the switch button at the side. At first he didn't notice it despite of the little arrow at the bottom right but once he found it he was pleasantly surprised. The lights put him in the spotlight.

I used colored fairy lights behind a frame I cut out using some nesting dies. Then I added some acetate behind the frame and I added foam tape as thick as the little battery operated switch was. I taped the strings with regular scotch tape so you would hardly see the strings. I added the photo onto a base card. I then added the light frame to the base card. The sentiment square is from Marianne Design CR1656 Felicitatie Vierkant by Marleen. I printed the wooden background paper from the internet.

I will be adding this to the following challenge:

A Yummy Christmas Card

Today I am showing you a christmas card with a delicious elegant christmas cake. Unfortunately it sometimes takes a while to post a card and then when I post it I have a hard time remembering all the materials I used but I will do my best to list it below.

I used red cardstock as my base card. I added a digital designer paper from Nitwit Collections on the card base. I then added a white panel on top of the designer paper. I used the 94854 Party Layer Cake of Memory Box. I embossed the cake layers and added white guirlandes on the layers. I also added some christmas elements from Spellbinders Christmas Cocktails on top of the cake and added the candles. I made the sentiment myself and die cut it with a label die.
