A Experimental Card

Today I am showing a card where I tried an experiment and it actually worked. I will be trying this many more times.

I am a frugal crafter because I believe that it should be a hobby and although I love all the designer and their releases it is getting a bit crazy and very expensive so if I can make something myself I will do just that. So I came across something that is called Stencil Butter. It looks so beautiful and when I looked into it I found out it comes in lots of colors but the price of a small jar is quite a lot. So I learned that is easy to make this yourself and I did. You just need to add some Extra Heavy Gel Medium to your acrylic paint to make it more like a paste. I ofcourse had to try this and it really works. I can now make any color by mixing my colors and adding that extra medium I can make it as thick as I want. It does require some time to dry but it is so beautiful. I only need to practise a bit more but it will turned out great I am sure. I also bought metallic acryllic paint colors for an even more shiny result. Check Youtube on how to make your own diy stencil butter if you are interested.

So the card here is the result of the first try I gave this. I mixed some white and pink paint together to get a lighter shade of pink and added the medium to it. I took the Dot Swirl Long stencil of Alexandra Renke and applied the substance to it. The reveal was such fun and then I left it to dry. I guess I could have used my heat tool but I didn't. When it was dry the texture is wonderful. I really had no idea what to do until I decided to make a slimeline cas card. I added some small butteflies inside the circle and added a nice sentiment of Maranne Design. A few pearl here and there for the finishing touch and that is that. I didn't wanna waste anything so this is what I made with it.

I will be adding this to the following challenges:
Stencil Fun September 2025 - Anything Goes Using A Stencil
Little Red Wagon #825 - Slimline Cards
Double D - Make Your Own Background
Unicorn #113 - Circles
Moving Along With The Times #181 - Butterflies

Till next time
